Enlightening & entertaining.

This book is some next level entrepreneurial genius. Amber has brilliantly turned everyday racist ignorance and cruelty into something entertaining and eye opening. I laughed and learned.

Good read for any and all people...constantly laughing

Should be required reading for all white people. As a white woman, I was aware that black women experience struggles I will never have to, but never in such detail. Some stories are hilarious and almost unbelievable, while others are just infuriating. Amber Ruffin is delightful as a comedian and writer.

Thank you for writing these stories! Will share this book. My wife & I have loved Amber for years. Now we love Lacey, too. You are remarkable humans & gifted story tellers. Thank you for this book!

The book is fine and instructive but it would have been more enjoyable to read if the publisher had followed the format of the print edition and set each author’s words in a different typeface. It says in the first chapter that one woman’s words will be in serif and the other in sans-serif, but instead it’s all one font throughout. Sloppy.

As other reviewers have noted before me this ebook copy does not switch fonts when it switches narrators, as the book is supposed to. The Nook ebook copy does switch fonts so you can try that. I got a refund on this one and got the audiobook instead.

I just started reading and was relieved I’d be able to tell who was narrating by the font as informed early in the text, but the font is ALL serif! Grrrr. Now I’m just going to be confused and upset and I want a refund or revised iBook edition. Any help out there?

Only one problem, and it’s not at all with the content: Amber “speaking” is supposed to be in serif fonts, Lacey in sans serif, but none of that seems preserved in the ebook.
